Tracking Rooms

Form as Function

The three purpose built tracking rooms were designed to provide a wide array of options.

The Live Room emphasizes reflective surfaces, golden ratios, and open space to produce natural reverb and air, giving drums, orchestras, and live band performances a more spacious and lively character. The walls are lapped with Red Cedar boards that aim reflections upward to the top of the 16’ room. Above 10’ there are more reflective surfaces to emphasize the tail in the upper air in the room. Two rows of curtains can be opened across the room dividing it into thirds, adjusting the ambience of the room from .85/s to about .25/s.

The Medium Room balances absorption with angled walls and ceilng to retain some ambience and warmth while keeping clarity. This makes it versatile for recording upright bass, acoustic instruments, drums, vocals, or the Yamaha C5 piano.

The Dead Iso Room features heavy acoustic treatment and absorption for minimal natural reverb and a very dry, controlled sound. This environment is ideal for vocals, tight drum sound, bass amps, and voice-overs/readings.
